If you're heading up 323 from Montebello - be careful. The road is heaving and it is quite rough in the older sections. One very large bump is marked with a orange flag! It might as well be a "corduroy road".

Thanks Jilly.....we are headed to Tremblant this coming week through Ottawa and up 323. The drive up 323 has been better in recent years after some of the roadwork done, but it can still be a rough drive esp in stormy weather. Friends are coming up autoroute 15 from Mtl to join us and frankly I'd rather drive a bumpy 323 than 15 at 120km in snow with all the crazies! Either way, I've had some harrowing drives to Tremblant over the years! But, it's all worth it once there!

It's just the older section. Not the Lac des Plages section and north. That's all good!!

Just back from our annual ski/snowshoe week at Tremblant. Jilly...you're right about the older sections of 323...while the roads were generally clear going in and coming back, you really have to watch for the heaves on the older sections. A couple of thoughts about my week. Had an issue picking up passes. I had cashed in airmiles points for two days worth of mid week passes and bought a latitude card on-line for 2 more days and we snowshoed the 5th day. Had an encounter with a surley woman at the Centre d'activities before getting my vouchers converted to a latitude card. Without going into the whole story, all I was asking for was a little direction on where to go, and there is simply no call today for that kind of indifference when you are in the hospitality industry. I thought Tremblant had cleaned up it's act with that sort of nonsense. The older gentleman behind the desk who took our pix and printed out our latitude cards was very pleasant and we conversed with him moitie-moitie! We had a glorious week on the slopes, which only served to reinforce...this is my favourite hill! Best run of the week was top to bottom Taschereaux to Biere en Bas to Johanssen with the only slow down being the usual conjestion at the top of Johanssen. Best runs are always a subjective thing, but it was the right combination of early morning fresh groming, full sun to light the way and an uncrowded week. Conditions were great all week.
